Closed for the Season ?

 

Well, winter is fast approaching as the Nantucket Island quiets down.  Quite a few restaurants and stores have closed their doors as well as lights being turned off in a large amount of homes.  Christmas is just around the corner and we look forward to the celebration of New Years.

"Creamsicle Martini" it's a special treat

 

"Creamsicle Martini"

 

 

 

1 oz. Absolut Mandarin

1 oz. Triple Sec

1/2 oz orange juice

1/2 oz. cream or half-half

 

 

Fill a shaker with ice.  Pour ingredients in and shake till frosty.  Strain into a martini glass then garnish with a wedge of orange.

Scallop Boats Taking a Rest

 Nantucket Bay Scallops are a little smaller then sea scallops and rich in flavor.  Sweet, velvety and delectable. A little salt, pepper then just seared in a saute pan for a few minutes.  Just so good !

Seals

 These seals are just too cute, aren't they?

 On the drive out to Great Point Lighthouse seals are seen resting along the way. About a 4.5 mile ride along the beach.

 With great respect, a photo is captured.

 These latecomers are a little nosey.

Christmas Trees

 Downtown Nantucket is decorated in all it's glory.  The Coast Guard decorated this tree to win 2nd place.  Notice the blue branches and ship!

 A spectacular tree with all the trimmings.

 Even the fishermen got creative. 

I just love the scallops as ornaments.

Apricot Fizz

 

We tried a Grapefruit Fizz, now let's try a different flavor.

 

Apricot Fizz

 

 

 

Ingredients:

 

 

2.5 oz of apricot brandy

1 oz. lemon juice

a touch of fine sugar or simple syrup

4 oz. club soda

 

 

Directions:

 

 

Fill shaker 3/4 full with brandy, lemon juice and sugar.  Shake well.  Strain and pour into a cocktail glass filled with ice and garnished with lime. Then add club soda to top.
